Kye Marshall, a Toronto-based photographer is also a composer and experimental cellist. She brings to her photography her experience, vision and discipline as a professional musician. She is drawn to photographing both people and nature. She creates abstracts from her nature photography using her compositional tools of colour, rhythm, line and form. Her work is influenced by Freeman Patterson with whom she studied.
Marshall has had solo shows at Axis Gallery and Grill, Fairview Library, Richview Library, The Window Box and Yorkville Library. She has participated in many group shows including Propeller Centre for the Visual Arts and the John B. Aird Gallery. Her photographs have been chosen for the Yes ArtGala and Show Your Ontario contest. In 2017 she will have a solo show at the Canadian Music Centre as part of the Contact Festival and participate in Luminous, a group show at the Heliconian Club.
